If you’re like me you can be easily distracted by all the interesting eats at Trader Joe’s! I call it “the neato effect!” It’s when you walk through the aisles and start picking up stuff that you don’t want or need and proclaim NEATO! And in your cart it goes because it is just so intriguing! There’s a lot of neat junk food at TJs, but there’s also some better choices you can walk away with and still experience the neato effect. I took a special trip there yesterday to pick out some better snacks to share with you. Oh, and here’s a pro tip: Don’t go on a Sunday! 🙂
This is the first I’ve seen of this! I love the regular Tzatziki, but this is definitely neato! It’s a little creamier than the regular with a nice light green color. 2 TBSP = 1.5g fat, 2g carbs, 1g protein. This dip goes with just about anything and would definitely add some pizzazz to veggies!
Need a little crunch? I think these are a great option. They are delicious. There are 2 servings per bag: 170 calories, 12g fat, 15g protein in each serving. These are really so much better than any kind of chip. (You can also make them yourself!) Would be good to pack on a road trip.
Tired of your regular ole nut butter? Why not try them all together! Includes almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pecans, sea salt.
This one gets bonus points for such a clever name. Again, good for when you want a crunch and a healthier option than a potato chip. There are 3.5 servings in the bag so be careful! Each serving is 5g fat, 16g carbs, 5g protein.
I really like plain raw cashews, but these are so good – they have a kick! At 180 cals per serving, these contain 14g fat and 5g protein. Eat them as a snack or add them to a salad or rice dish.
All of these items contain very little sugar. All had no added sugar and two of them had 1 or 2 grams. I think these are very satisfying good-for-you neato snacks!
