It’s that special time of year again! This November is being declared ROWvember! We hope that you’ll row your way through the month in support of two very special charities. This year we’re supporting Girls on the Run and Dogs for our Brave!

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is an after-school program designed to inspire girls of all abilities to recognize and embrace their inner strength. Lessons emphasize the important connection between physical and emotional health. Through safety modifications and virtual programming, dedicated and trained staff are ready to adapt to local community needs. At the end of the program, girls complete a 5K, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment, setting a confident and goal-oriented mindset into motion.

Dogs for our Brave

Our mission is to provide professionally trained service dogs at no cost to veterans who have suffered debilitating injury or illness while in service to our country. Our goal is to use rescue dogs at every opportunity, thus saving two lives at once. In order to fully realize our mission without adding financial burden, we also provide a continuum of free support that covers all food, veterinary care, and pharmaceuticals for the life of the dog.

Here’s what you need to know!

  • Choose your distance: Half-Marathon 21,097 Meters or Marathon 42,195 meters (You have from November 1 – 30 to complete.)
    • Participants will be able to row during Open Row times, attend a free rowing workshop on October 30th, and will receive a special t-shirt once the challenge has been completed!
    • Track your meters on our in-studio Rowvember chart.
    • All of our Rowvember proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run and Dogs for our Brave! The initial $35 donations will be split between our two charities, but you can pick one or the other for additional fundraising.
    • Please let Rissa know if you would like to do additional fundraising by getting pledges from family and friends to support either charity! Facebook fundraising is an easy way to do it and we had success with this last time! We’ll have a special Happy Hour and DF gift for fundraisers that raise $250 or more!
