May Member of the Month





Congratulations to May Member of the Month, Sarah!


Sarah was nominated by Coach Denise. She says Sarah is a lot of fun! She’s got a smile on each morning even though she pretends not to be in to this “training stuff”.  Sarah has lettered  in both sports; Strength and CardioStrong, and consistently shows up for her Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday sessions. 


Sarah is not afraid to ask questions and accepts coaching like a champ.  She lifts her fellow members up with a compliment or an encouragement all while keeping us smiling right along with her. Way to go Sarah!

What brought you to Dragonfly? What brought me to Dragonfly was my overarching goal last year of “improvement.” I wanted to improve my health, mobility and strength. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t also about weight loss, but that quickly left my focus when I realized how great it felt to move my body regardless of a number on a scale.


Does the Dragonfly community play a part in your gym experience? If it wasn’t for the community at Dragonfly I definitely wouldn’t have lasted a month, let alone the year+ I’ve been coming. All the coaches and members have been incredibly welcoming and encouraging. They have made it a safe, comfortable place for me to try and do hard things (like prowler pushes, Turkish get ups…and well, pretty much all of the things).


What is something that used to be intimidating at the gym but now you love it and/or how might you encourage others that might be nervous? I wish I was kidding, but literally everything intimidated me about the gym initially. I had never tried strength training and haven’t been a very active person up until joining Dragonfly, so absolutely everything was new. I would encourage others to laugh and have fun…you’re way more likely to keep up with exercise if you enjoy it! Also don’t stress if you struggle with something, the coaches never give up on you! Shout out to Denise and Missy, my early morning trainers!
