Master Your Minutes

TIME is the #1 excuse that I hear for poor nutrition and not working out.

I just don’t have time to workout. I don’t have time to eat well. My days are so busy and unpredictable.

I mean this in a loving way, but that’s just an excuse for most of us. Myself included. We generally make time for what’s most important to us.

However, I do think it’s important to look at where you may be spending your time…especially if you are arguing with me in your head right now! 🙂 (No, really, I am really too busy!)

Everyone is busy these days, but are there ways you could be more effective?

Time management begins with a plan. If we don’t plan then minutes will fall right through our hands. Effective time management begins the day before.

THE FUTURE IS CREATED BY WHAT YOU DO TODAY, NOT TOMORROW.

Here’s something simple you can do right now to set yourself up for success tomorrow.

Is there anything that you do in the morning that you can do at night? Get your clothes out for the gym, make your breakfast/lunch, put a glass of water by your bed so you drink it first thing. (This is a big one for me…as it’s much more fun to drink coffee first thing!)

Now, here’s a little homework for you. Do a time audit this week! A time audit should include everything you do from when you get up to when you go to bed. Every single minute. Do this for 3 -4 days or for the entire week. Then take a look at it and think about some of the ways you waste time and what can be eliminated. You may be surprised.

Once you learn to master your minutes you will find that you just may be a little happier and less stressed!
