It’s Not The Load That Breaks You

It’s not the load that breaks you, it’s the way you carry it.

Ever notice how some folks seem to push through hard times, while others struggle? Well, at some point it’s a choice.

When bad things or people happen to us we have a choice. We have a choice on how we will respond. We can choose to feel sorry for ourselves, we can choose to blame or punish others that had nothing to do with it...or we can choose to move on and maybe even learn from it.

I've carried loads the wrong way and they weighed me down, kept me scared, wore me out and left me stuck. When I changed the way I was carrying that load, when I changed my way of thinking… it felt much lighter. And I had to in order to move forward.

I always had a choice, unfortunately sometimes I chose the poor me, this is breaking me way of thinking and stayed stuck in the past because of it.

It’s all about perspective.

We can think “Oh, poor me!” or we can think “This will not defeat me!” and move on and seek a solution. I do my best now to be solution-oriented. It’s not easy, but just consider how you want to go through life.

It’s not the load that breaks you, it’s the way you carry it. I love this little piece of life advice. (And, yes, I also love how it relates to movement and proper form!)
