February Member of the Month: Margie

Congratulations to our February Member of the Month, Margie!

Margie has been a Dragonfly member for two and a half years.  She’s a regular in our 6AM classes and you’ll find her smiling during the workouts (even if there’s a quick side-eye thrown in now & again!). She’s a great team player in class, is always welcoming to new members and stays consistent no matter what! You rock, Margie!

We asked Margie a few questions about her training experience and here’s what she had to say:

What was your first impression of Dragonfly?

I really loved how welcoming everyone was – it’s always intimidating going to a new place, but everyone was quick to say hello and make me feel right at home.

What’s your favorite thing you’ve accomplished in the last month?

I’ve really liked the current Lift cycle and I’m up to 44 lbs. on my kettlebell swing! Last year I was only doing 26 lbs. and I knew I could do more – I just needed the extra push.

What motivates you to stay consistent with your training?

I like to stay consistent with the 6:00AMs – so for me, if I get up one day of the week and go, I might as well do it every day! And if I’m being honest, the late cancel fee is a big motivator when I’m not ready to get out of bed!

What would you say to someone afraid to get started with strength training?

Dragonfly is not intimidating at all and you can start strength training at any level of fitness!

Bonus: What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

In high school, I worked at the Butterfly House gift shop (despite the fact that I’m afraid of butterflies). I went in once – that was enough!
