So yeah. I said it. Life is short. Please just eat the damn cake…if you want it. If you don’t want it, then don’t eat it.
The holidays are coming up…there might be lots of cake. And I think it’s important to take a minute to think about…well, how you think about food.
I love helping clients figure out how to create a healthy lifestyle that is not full of rules and foods they can’t ever have. So I hope you’ll take these things to heart and enjoy your celebrations.
Enjoy your food. Whatever it is…eat it, enjoy it, move on. Remember, you don’t have to be perfect. If you truly want the cake, eat the cake. Just make sure the last bite tastes as good as the first. If it doesn’t – stop.
Don’t freak out about social events. Instead of freaking out, plan for them. Which ones will you have a drink at? Which ones will you make the best choices at? Head into the holidays calm and cool. A drink here and there, some cookies, some cake. It’s all fine –I’ve got this. Just keep it in check. And don’t tell yourself you can’t do that…I believe you can. Here’s a post about planned indulgences — check it out for some planning ahead tips.
Don’t treat food as good or bad. Food isn’t good or bad. And neither are you. You’re not bad because you had cake.
Don’t overthink it. Keep it simple. Whatever choices you make, move on. No need to linger and beat yourself up over one choice. Your next chance to eat well comes at your very next meal.
Starting in December, I’ll be hosting three FREE mini- challenges to help you finish out the year feeling good (inside & out)! If you’d like more info on those just click below to add yourself to the list! (I should have all the info ready next week!)
