Don’t Be Afraid Of Carbs

You may have heard that carbs are the devil. Well, you’ll be relieved to know that carbs can be our friends. (Most of them and most of us, anyway. Of course, it all depends on you and how certain foods affect your body.)

I LOVE CARBS as much as the next person! I love pizza, chips, french fries—you name it. So I understand the struggle.

But instead of trying to cut carbs altogether, consider instead just consciously making better carb choices. To do that, you need to learn about the delicious carbs that actually help give us energy and fuel our activities (a.k.a. “smart carbs”!).

So, what “smart carbs” should be on your grocery list?

You’ll feel a lot more energized if you focus on adding the above carbs into your diet in place of the not-as-smart kind, like: pastries, cookies and bars, sweets, sweetened drinks, and sweetened dried fruit.

Here’s a great question to ask yourself: Is what I’m eating adding value to my body?

If the answer is yes, then it’s likely a smart carb!
