April Member of the Month: Wendy!

Congratulations to our April Member of the Month – Wendy!
 
We’re thrilled to honor Wendy as our absolutely awesome & amazing April member of the month! Our coaches love that Wendy is not only open to feedback, but seeks out any opportunity to improve! She approaches every workout with a positive attitude, and is always ready to push herself out of her comfort zone. We think Wendy is pretty TRX-cellent!
 
We asked Wendy a few questions about her training experience, and here’s what she had to say:

How long have you been doing strength training?

At the end of this month, it will be my 2 year anniversary!

What’s your favorite exercise or equipment to use?

My favorite exercise is the variety that I get at Dragonfly..I don’t have to choose! I get a little cardio, a little lifting, a little TRX and yoga. I never get bored or tired of doing “the same old thing”!

What has been your most memorable personal record or accomplishment so far?

My accomplishment is not necessarily memorable, but that I have managed to make important changes in the way I eat and that exercise has become an enjoyable daily part of my life…for two years!

What would you say to other ladies who might be nervous to start strength training?

I have never been an athletic person and went 20 years focusing on my family’s needs and not finding time to invest in myself. It was super scary the day I realized that I wanted to try to get back into shape – and I knew I wouldn’t stick to it in the comfort of my own home watching videos! I needed a place that could teach me about nutrition – I never really ate poorly, it was just that my body was not reacting to food like it used to, and I needed to understand how to combat that in a healthy way.  I needed a place to exercise that was not intimidating and that I could work at my own pace without feeling self- conscious. Dragonfly Fitness ticked all of my boxes, so the answer for each of us is out there if you look for the right fit!  I couldn’t be happier to spend part of my day with these trainers and other members all working towards a goal of making ourselves stronger and I hope others out there find this same happiness for themselves!

Bonus! What’s your favorite type of music or specific songs to work out to?

Carey played 80’s disco music during our yoga fusion class and I couldn’t get it out of my head the rest of the day (in a good way), but I also really love in class when some boy band song that I don’t really know comes on and the other ladies bust out with the chorus or can’t help but dance a little while they are exercising. Makes me smile inside.
