Aldi Finds, Part 1

By February 24, 2020 blog, Nutrition

I found some cool stuff at Aldi this weekend that I wanted to share with you!

Ready-To-Eat Quinoa: It’s all ready to go for ya! There’s even a spoon! This would be great to throw in your bag if you travel during the day or if you’re out during a busy weekend. Might even work for nurses and teachers? Good ingredients. And it’s got 10 grams of protein and pesto that you can mix in for some added flavor! $1.99

Cauliflower Crackers: Ok, so I grabbed these because I’ve been buying a more expensive version at Whole Foods and Dierberg’s. Anyway, these are basically the same…ingredients and all. And they are $2.99 compared to $3.99 & 4.99. I think these are a good sometimes snack option when you just want something crunchy!

Protein Wraps: 12 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber and 7 grams net carbs. It’s cool that there’s faba bean protein. I’m a little disappointed about the oils used in this product, but everything else is pretty darn good. Great to get some extra protein. $2.99

Coconut Cashew Crisps: A treat for sure and these are good! Just five ingredients: coconut, cashews, coconut sugar, cassava flour, sea salt. Eight crisps = 160 calories and 8 grams of sugar. Honestly, you could do worse with a sweet treat! $2.99

Kale Veggie Burger: I’m excited to try these! All good ingredients and a good, quick option for plant-based eating. (Expeller pressed canola oil is produced in a more natural way than regular canola oil.) There’s not a lot of protein here so I’m going to be sure to add some other forms of protein when I eat this burger! $3.59

That’s all for now. I’ll be back next week with some of my other finds!
