Dragonfly Fitness & Training, a women’s personal and group training studio in the South City area, is celebrating five years in business this month with the announcement of several new charity initiatives.
The studio, with more than 160 members, is pledging to donate one dollar per person per class through their new Uplift Charity Program. Beginning in August Dragonfly will partner with a different charity each month to support a specific program or project with the donation, which is based upon studio attendance. The charities will also be featured on Dragonfly’s website, social media and in studio.
Renah Jones, the owner of the studio says, “Giving back is a part of what we do here. I’m really proud of what we have given over the years, and now it’s time to step it up. It’s an important initiative for me personally, and I know our members will be excited about this as well.” Jones says that the studio typically sees upwards of 1,000 visits each month.
Charity partners already on the list for 2017 include Stray Rescue, The Little Bit Foundation, and Girls on the Run. The studio selects its partner charities based upon suggestions from its team and members.
“It’s a big pledge for a small fitness business, but we are committed to making this happen,” says Jones. She also hopes that this will show others that every business can give back and make a difference, not just the big ones.
The two other new initiatives, Fitness Fund and Team Volunteer Program, will provide benefits to members, potential members and employees.
Dragonfly has officially adopted Raising the Bar as the new tagline to incorporate the importance of giving back to the community. We are raising the bar to live our best life and raising the bar to help others do the same.
